How can an app allow the user to find a clean public restroom in an easy and distinct way?
A few apps already try to tackle this question, the most prominent being Sit or Squat by Charmin. The apps currently available are rudimentary information apps that don't have high return rates. With these apps available in the market how can my app be distinguishable and offer a more engaging experience than the competition?
This app is a satire on the ever growing use of social media and the need to broadcast personal information. The medieval theme came from the double entendre of the word throne, such as mans’ throne room and a king of the throne. To encourage crowdsourcing and continual use a game aspect was added. Taking inspiration from other social media apps such as Foursquare and Untappd, users can check in, gain experience, and complete achievements to help them conquer a throne.
Creating paper prototypes allowed for rapid prototyping. Testing was conducted on classmates, professors, and students around campus.
